Origin and Creation of the Character

Gearhead, also known as Revolio Clockberg Jr., is a standout supporting character in Rick and Morty. He first appears in the episode Ricksy Business in Season 1, introducing himself as a sophisticated yet incredibly annoying mechanical being. Created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, Gearhead embodies both the trope of a character obsessed with his own culture and an opportunist who will betray anyone for his own gain.

His steampunk-inspired design, with exposed gears making up his head, gives him a look that is both comedic and slightly unsettling.

Character Description

Gearhead is a semi-organic, semi-mechanical alien, obsessed with the history of his people, the Gear Wars, a series of intergalactic conflicts that no one seems to take seriously except for him. His pedantic behavior and inability to read social cues make him an irritating presence for Rick and Morty.

Despite his annoying demeanor, Gearhead is also a devious manipulator, willing to betray anyone if it benefits him. He quickly sells out Rick to the authorities after a minor disagreement, proving that he is never truly trustworthy.

With his unique design and recurring role as a comedic nuisance, Gearhead exemplifies the kind of eccentric side characters that add to the absurd charm of Rick and Morty.
