Nazgûl – The Black Riders, Wraiths of the Ring

The Nazgûl, also known as Black Riders or Ringwraiths, are the most feared servants of Sauron in The Lord of the Rings. Once nine human kings, they were corrupted by the Rings of Power given to them by the Dark Lord. Over time, their souls were consumed by the power of the One Ring, turning them into immortal, invisible wraiths, bound entirely to Sauron's will.

Recognizable by their black cloaks and eerie presence, they roam Middle-earth in search of the One Ring, relentlessly pursuing Frodo and his companions. The most powerful among them, the Witch-King of Angmar, leads Sauron's armies and is responsible for the fall of the kingdom of Arnor.

Unaffected by normal weapons, they are weak to light and enchanted weapons like Éowyn’s sword, which ultimately defeats the Witch-King during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Dark, menacing, and deathless, the Nazgûl represent pure terror in service of evil.
