Elder Greyback: Predator 2's respected veteran

In Predator 2 (1990), Elder Greyback, also known as Greyback or Golden Angel, appears as the venerable leader of the Yautja “Lost Tribe”. Recognizable by his graying skin and silver dreadlocks, symbols of his advanced age and elevated status, he is distinguished by an imposing presence and an aura of wisdom. At the end of the film, after Lieutenant Mike Harrigan defeats the “City Hunter”, Greyback shows his respect by giving Harrigan a flintlock pistol dating from 1715, engraved with the name “Raphael Adolini”, suggesting a long history of hunting on Earth.

Greyback's past is explored in the comic Predator: 1718, where he is nicknamed “Golden Angel” because of his golden mask. In 1718, he is said to have fought alongside pirate captain Raphael Adolini against a mutiny, forging a bond between them before receiving the famous pistol as a sign of mutual respect. This story enriches the character, showing an honorable side of the Yautja and their complex code of honor.
