Description

The Ginyu Commando is an elite fictional commando created by Akira Toriyama in the 1984 manga Dragon Ball, in the service of one of the manga's main antagonists, the tyrant Freezer. It comprises five members, each with special abilities.

During the Namek arc, Freezer's plans are disrupted by the mishap caused by the group of protagonists, notably Vegeta, who, in addition to stealing the Dragon Balls of Namek, kills Zarbon and Dodoria, Freezer's direct subordinates. Freezer then summoned the Ginue Commando to bring back the Dragon Balls and kill Vegeta, Krilin and Son Gohan.

Although the group neutralized one of its members, Guldo, they were no match for the Commando's power. It took Son Goku's intervention to finally defeat the elite troop. However, Vegeta will finish off Reecom and Burter.

In the film Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of F (then in the Dragon Ball Super series) we learn that the fifth member and leader of the commando, Ginyu, having ended up in the body of a frog, is "accidentally" brought back to Earth, when Dendé uses the Dragon Balls from Namek. He takes possession of the body of Tagoma, a soldier who took part in Freezer's resurrection, only to be definitively defeated by Vegeta.

Following this film making Ginyu's death official, we now know that the entire Ginyu commando was killed by Vegeta.
