Stormtroopers are the elite soldiers of the galaxy. They are the most distinctive symbol of the New Order. They number in the tens of millions across the galaxy. According to the Empire's definition, they are charged with " bringing order to the galaxy, protecting the peace and crushing rebellion ".

Convinced by this Imperial propaganda, millions of men enlisted in the Grand Army. Some were also seduced by the working conditions; one stormtrooper from the 501st Legion spoke of " good pay, vacations and the best dental and medical care to be found anywhere in the galaxy ". However, some recruits, faced with the reality of the field (brutality towards populations, killings...), preferred to desert.

The Battle of Endor and the founding of the New Republic did not lead to the disappearance of the Stormtroopers. Thousands of soldiers continued to wear the armor in the hope of restoring the Empire. While some became guards for small patrons, many went on to serve former Imperial leaders, such as Moff Gideon.
