Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, known simply as Princess Leia, is a fictional character from the Star Wars saga. Born on Polis Massa, she is the daughter of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, and the twin sister of Luke Skywalker.

She is one of the main characters in all three films of the original trilogy, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. She appears briefly in Revenge of the Sith, which takes place chronologically earlier, being born in one of the film's final scenes. In the three films of the third trilogy, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and Skywalker Ascends, she is general of the Resistance fighting against the First Order. Leia is also the mother of Ben Solo, the child she had with Han Solo, who turned to the dark side of the Force as Kylo Ren.

In addition to the films, Leia Organa appears in the novelizations of these works, as well as in other novels, comic books and video games that make up the Star Wars universe. She also appears in TV series from this universe, including Rebels and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
