Five Nights at Freddy's , often abbreviated to FNAF, is an independent point-and-click survival horror video game series developed by Scott Cawthon. It debuted in 2014 and features nine main episodes. The series also features four spin-offs and has been adapted into several novels.

The aim of the main games is to survive five nights at Freddy's. From a control room, the player uses cameras to monitor animatronics (animal-like robots) seeking to enter the player's room.

Although the player has access to the building's camera monitors, doors and lights, he or she cannot activate them simultaneously: they must be activated alternately. There's also a battery limit. It's a stressful management game (in the sense that the player has to organize himself to escape from all the enemies) amplified by a horrific atmosphere. There have been over 9 games, including the film, which was released on November 8, 2023 in France and October 27, 2023 in the United States.
