Man-Wolf – The Lunar Beast and Spider-Man’s Foe

Man-Wolf, aka John Jameson, is a half-man, half-werewolf character in Marvel Comics, first appearing in 1973 in The Amazing Spider-Man #124. An astronaut and the son of J. Jonah Jameson, he discovers a mystical gemstone on the Moon, the Moonstone, which transforms him into a feral beast with uncontrollable strength. Unlike traditional werewolves, Man-Wolf doesn’t transform due to the full moon but rather the cosmic energy of the stone.

Initially an enemy of Spider-Man, he later becomes a more nuanced character, torn between heroism and monstrosity. He has faced foes like Morbius and Kraven the Hunter and even ventured into cosmic adventures. At times, the Moonstone granted him a more evolved and intelligent form, turning him into the warrior Stargod. Man-Wolf represents the eternal struggle between man and beast, blending science fiction and horror within the Marvel Universe.
