The series centers on Walter White, an overqualified chemistry professor and family man, who, having been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, turns to crime to secure his family's financial future. To this end, he starts manufacturing and selling methamphetamine with the help of one of his former students, Jesse Pinkman. The story takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
