Description

The mythosaurus was a quasi-mythical creature of Mandalore, as well as one of its most important symbols.

Native to the planet Mandalore, the mythosaurus was without doubt the most important creature in Mandalorian folklore.

It was said to have once been ridden by Mandalore the Great himself. For this reason, the mythosaurus skull was a strong symbol for Mandalorians: it represented the planet Mandalore, Boba Fett wore it as an emblem on his left epaulette, and a beskar skull adorned the entrance to the Tribe's lair on Nevarro.

When Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze and Grogu ventured into the Mandalore Mines, they gained access to the Living Waters. This is where the mythosaurus was supposed to live in Mandalorian legends. When Din Djarin tried to bathe in the waters, he fell into a deep chasm, dragged down by the weight of his armor. Bo-Katan immediately dived in to rescue him, pulling him to the surface with the help of his jet-pack.  It was during this ascent that she had the privilege of seeing an enormous eye open, then a huge head move: she had just been the first in millennia to observe a living mythosaurus.
