Beetleborgs is an 88-episode, 23-minute American/Canadian television series created by Haïm Saban and broadcast from September 7, 1996 in the United States.
In France, the series ran from September 1, 1997 to May 19, 1999 on TF1's TF! Jeunesse and rebroadcast on France 3 in Les Minikeums from 1999 to 2000, and again in 2000 on TF1.
The story begins when five children (including the 3 future heroes: Jo, his brother Drew, and their friend Roland) take a gamble to enter a manor house reputed to be haunted. Once inside, the three heroes encounter a vampire, a mummy and an imitation of Frankenstein's monster.
They escape through a secret passage leading to a hidden room. Meanwhile, the other two children, thinking they're disguising themselves to scare the heroes, flee when they hear the screams of Jo, the group's daughter. Jo, Drew and Roland find a strange old organ.
Jo desperately leans against it and activates the notes, unknowingly triggering a mechanism that frees a strange, clown-like genie named Flabber from the instrument. Grateful to his liberators, he agrees to grant them a wish. The three children turn out to be fans of The Beetleborgs comic strip, and ask Flabber to transform them into their favorite heroes. Unfortunately, in transforming the youngsters into superheroes, he simultaneously releases the villains, the Magniavores, from the comic. And so begins a battle in the real world.
