David Bautista or Dave Bautista, better known as Batista, is an American actor and wrestler, born January 18, 1969 in Washington.

He began his career as a wrestler, becoming known for his work with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2002 under the name Batista. After a spell as manager of Reverend D-Von, then as a member of the Evolution Clan with Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton, he won the Royal Rumble in 2005 and his first world title at WrestleMania 21, beating Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. He won this title three more times between 2006 and 2008, and won the WWE Championship twice in 2009 and 2010.

He left the federation in 2010, when, injured after his match against John Cena at Over the Limit, he refused to fight in a Fatal 4-Way qualifying match against Randy Orton, also injured, and was declared forfeit. He made his comeback for a few months in early 2014 and won the Royal Rumble to earn a spot in the main event of WrestleMania XXX.

On the silver screen, he appears in bully or antagonist roles in the mainstream action films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and 007 Spectre (2015), as well as in several other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he plays Drax the Destroyer. He then sought to diversify his career, taking on consistently secondary roles in prestige productions such as Denis Villeneuve's Dune (2021).
