Les Bisounours, in France, or les Calinours, in French Canada (in English: the Care Bears), are an American range of plush toys popular in the 1980s, marketed worldwide by the Kenner company. More than 40 million of these bears, in all colors, were sold between 1983 and 1987. A name, symbol and job were attached to each bear. For example, "Grosdodo" helps children sleep and has a crescent moon on his stomach.

The toys began life as greeting card characters in 1981. Later, a few non-bear toys, Care Bear Cousins, were introduced.

The toy line spawned three big-screen movies between 1985 and 1987; there's also a TV cartoon produced first by DiC, then by Nelvana.

Recently, the Care Bears toys have returned in a new edition for the 21st century. This return was marked by two films released on DVD in 2004 and 2005.
