Description

Boule et Bill is a Belgian humorous children's comic strip series, named after its two main characters. Created in 1959 by Jean Roba, it was taken over in 2003 by Laurent Verron and then in late 2016 by scriptwriter Christophe Cazenove and cartoonist Jean Bastide.

They were made famous by the Belgian comics magazine Spirou, where they first appeared in issue 1132. It was a short story imagined in collaboration with Maurice Rosy and Vicq.

The series recounts the family adventures of a 7-year-old boy, Boule, and his dog, a cocker spaniel named Bill. Also featured are Boule's mother and father, Caroline the turtle, the neighbor and her cat Caporal, and more.

It consists of a series of gags, spread over several albums, with the exception of Globe-trotters, which is a complete story.

Most of the gags take place in or around the house, but the family also goes on vacation, to the beach or the mountains. Boule looks more like a 12-year-old in the album Une vie de chien! (Vol. 9, Plate 53), where he expresses his bad humor by denouncing modern mathematics and new teaching methods.
