He first appeared in 1983 in the film Star Wars, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
For the next two years, he was a central character in the Ewok TV movies Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, as well as in the animated series Ewoks.
He also appears in numerous literary works about Ewoks. Originally, Kenny Baker was to have played the character of Wicket, but he fell ill at the start of filming and was replaced by thirteen-year-old Warwick Davis.
Davis subsequently reprised the role of Wicket for the TV films The Ewoks' Adventure (1984) and The Battle of Endor (1985).
Wicket is the first ewok Princess Leia Organa encounters when she crashes her motorjet in the forest moon of Endor.
Struggling with a scout-trooper, Wicket comes to her rescue, diverting the imperial soldier's attention.
At first suspicious, he soon befriends the princess. Clumsy by nature, Wicket is found at the Battle of Endor, where the Ewoks come to the aid of the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire.
