Description

Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, is a superheroine in the Marvel Universe published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Arnold Drake and artist Jim Steranko, the fictional character first appeared in the comic book Uncanny X-Men #49 in October 1968.

Polaris is a mutant and the daughter of the mutant Magneto.

For most of her published life, she was a member of the X-Men or one of its sister groups, such as Factor-X (X-Factor). In comics published from 1987 to 1989, she was possessed by a telepathic entity called Malice. In the comics published from 2000 to 2001, she was a member of the Acolytes and Magneto's cabinet in Genosha. She turned out to be one of the few survivors of the island genocide led by Wild Sentinels.

As a mutant, Polaris can control magnetism in a similar way to Magneto, whom she had long suspected of being her biological father. This relationship was confirmed in Uncanny X-Men #431 (November 2003). She also had a complicated long-term relationship with Alex Summers (the X-Man Havok), to whom she was engaged. She was also characterized as struggling with recurring mental health problems.Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, is a superheroine in the Marvel Universe published by Marvel Comics.
