Rox and Rouky (The Fox and the Hound) is Disney Studios' 31st animated feature and 24th animated classic. Released in 1981, it is based on the 1967 novel The Fox and the Hound by Daniel P. Mannix.

Production of Rox and Rouky began in the spring of 1977, before the release of The Adventures of Bernard and Bianca. Rox and Rouky marks the last participation of veteran animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas. The film experienced a difficult production period with the resignation of Don Bluth and his team of animators in 1979, forcing Disney Studios to postpone the film's release from Christmas 1980 to summer 1981 and leading to the studio's decision to water down the script. The new generation of animators took up the baton, and would be at work a few years later with the Disney Renaissance.
